Syrians deserve better Drama

Most of the Syrian drama works were not fit to the level of
the Syrian culture. To avoid talking in generals I will mention some examples;
‘Aldabour’ (the wasp), and ‘Rejal Al ezz’ (men of honor). We all discovered
that those two series are similar, they have the same story; a man who managed
to escape from prison to take his revenge and became a hero, Aldabour’. In the
second series Rejal Al ezz, we discover that the same actor is playing the same
character of a man who escaped from prison…etc. both series have the same
midwife and the same abuse of the Syrian society heritage.

We noticed that both series have the same visual effects,
the same steady, old camera motion, the same people and the same characters in
the Syrian drama.

Why can’t we be clear and franc when we talk about Syrian
drama? We should admit that the official sponsorship of the Syrian drama contributed
to the recession it is witnessing these days.

We all know that the media performance is less than
acceptable, actually it is quite bad.

The comedy series were too silly, they underestimated the
public culture, sense, habits, moralities, civilization, liberties and values
of the Syrian society. All Syrian comedy series were bad ‘spot light’, ‘Kherbeh’,’
Marayah’, ‘yaoumeyat moudeer a’am’. There is a big difference between comedy,
irony and clowning!

The Syrian drama should reconsider its place
and rise up again; Syrian drama should not lay on its past achievements.
